Mission of Education and Research and Basic Policies (Three Policies)

Master's Program, Graduate School of Business Administration

Educational and Research Purposes

The Business Administration Master’s Program offered by the Graduate School of Business Administration aims to develop high-level expert professionals who can exert their practical skills, and provide professionals who are actively working in society with practical and theoretically systematizable knowledge in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, and marketing that can be used at business scenes, and with education and research opportunities.

Diploma Policy (Principle of Degree Conferment)

For the Business Administration Master's Program offered by the Graduate School of Business Administration, students who have completed the required number of credits and whose submitted master's thesis has been examined and found acceptable for the degree in accordance with the internal rules related to the program are judged to be equipped with the following capabilities and are awarded a master's degree (Business Administration).

  1. Capability to acquire broad and profound knowledge across the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, and to solve problems related to management.
  2. Capability to create a thesis based on the theme set on one's own in one's specialized field based on broad specialized knowledge and present it.
  3. Capability to acquire expert knowledge and skills for implementing jobs that require high-level expertise in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business.

Curriculum Policy (Principle of Curriculum Formation and Implementation)

For the Business Administration Master's Program offered by the Graduate School of Business Administration, in order to allow students to improve their expert knowledge and research capabilities in and around the specialized field and to acquire skills for performing work requiring expertise, the curriculum is formed according to the following policy.

  1. For the first year of the Program, "Fundamental Methodology on Business Research" which gives guidance on how to collect literature and materials for business administration research, presentation technics, and how to write a thesis, is arranged as a basic lecture course.
  2. To allow students to acquire a wide knowledge across the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, specialized lecture courses in such fields are arranged to form a well-balanced curriculum.
  3. A curriculum that can respond to the needs of students, by offering courses held in the evening, on Saturday, and during regular school hours, is formed to enable various types of students to study business administration.

Admission Policy (Principle of Student Admission)

Based on the Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy, the Business Administration Master's Program offered by the Graduate School of Business Administration seeks applicants who have the following academic skills and motivations.

  1. Those who have basic academic skills necessary for developing research in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, and for improving professional skills in these fields.
  2. Those who aim to acquire higher level expertise and research capabilities in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, and become expert professionals.
  3. Those who are already working after graduating university and wish to acquire high-level expert knowledge in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, and systematize it theoretically.
  4. Those who have a strong interest in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, and wish to improve professional skills, regardless of the universities or faculties they graduated from.

Doctor's Program, Graduate School of Business Administration

Diploma Policy (Principle of Degree Conferment)

The Business Administration Doctor's Program offered by the Graduate School of Business Administration aims to develop creative and independent researchers in the field of business administration sciences, such as business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, with higher-level expertise who can adapt to our modern society that never stops changing, and also develop individuals engaged in high-level expertise-required jobs who can acquire and apply broad knowledge across such fields.

Diploma Policy (Principle of Degree Conferment)

For the Business Administration Doctor's Program offered by the Graduate School of Business Administration, students who have completed the required number of credits and whose submitted doctor's theses have been examined and found acceptable for the degree in accordance with the internal rules related to the program are judged to be equipped with the following capabilities and are awarded a doctor's degree (Business Administration).

  1. Capability to acquire broad and profound knowledge across the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, and a high-level expert knowledge in each field, and then apply that knowledge.
  2. Capability to prepare academic research based on the research results in the specialized field, and conduct research activities independently as a researcher.
  3. Capability to acquire expert knowledge and skills for being engaged in high-level expertise-required jobs in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business.

Curriculum Policy (Principle of Curriculum Formation and Implementation)

For the Business Administration Doctor's Program offered by our Graduate School of Business Administration, in order to allow students to conduct independent research activities as researchers and acquire skills for being engaged in high-level expertise-required jobs, a curriculum is formed according to the following policy.

  1. A curriculum system is organized in such as way that well-balanced guidance can be provided on the traditional area of business administration and on new areas whose importance has been recognized amid the spread of globalization and ICT.
  2. Plenty of specialized lecture courses are arranged to enable students to acquire a high-level expert knowledge and skills in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business.
  3. A system for research supervision that provides supervisions on an individual student basis until thesis completion, with focus on seminars, is established.

  3. Those who are already working, wish to further improve their expertise in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, wish to exert their practical skills more, and who aim to become expert professionals.
  4. Those who are strongly motivated to acquire high-level expert knowledge, practical skills, and problem-solving abilities in the fields of business administration, accounting, information management, marketing and international business, and strongly wish to give these knowledge and those skills back to society.
