Based on the Diploma Policy, the Graduate School of Foreign Languages of Daito Bunka University comprehensively evaluates dissertations in accordance with the criteria below.

Master's Degree Dissertation Evaluation Criteria

  1. Clarity of the research theme
    The author clearly demonstrates the research theme, and appropriately describes the significance related to the research objectives.
  2. Validity of the research methods
    The author uses effective research methods according to the research objectives.
  3. Appropriateness of treatment of earlier research and materials
    Based on the understanding and criticism of earlier research in the relevant field, the author widely collected materials, discovered typical cases, and disclosed their characteristics.
  4. Clearness and consistency of the theme
    The author presents the theme clearly and consistently, and reaches a conclusion that is new and has a potential for expansion.
  5. Appropriateness of the structure and expressions
    The author structures the thesis systematically as an academic paper, and writes it using appropriate language.
  6. Academic and social contribution
    Considered based on international academic standards, the thesis shows uniqueness, even partially, and aims for social contribution.
  7. Ethics
    The thesis observes the code of ethics in Daito Bunka University and the ethical standards of the related academic circles and organizations.
