Events / Annual Study Tour for International Students 【Tohoku(東北)】

On Sep.9-11, the International Center held the Annual Study Tour for international students.

 

The destination of this year was Tohoku. They visited Akita, Yamagata, and Miyagi.

 

Unfortunate for them, a typhoon visited Japan during this trip, so the weather was not good for travel.

 

But many good points more than offset bad weather.

The Shinkansen they used was the fastest model in Japan. The hotels they stayed were so elegant and had large Onsen baths. Most of all, the dinner were very gorgeous and delicious!

They visited Kakunodate, it’s called “the little Kyoto in Tohoku”, climbed 1,000 steps to Yamadera which is famous in a Haiku by Matsuo Basho（松尾芭蕉）. At grape picking, they could eat sweet grapes as much as they liked.

 

They could see and experience Japanese culture outside of the classroom and made new memories of life in Japan.
