Japanese Language and Culture Master's Program

Educational and Research Purposes

The Japanese Language and Culture Master's Program offered by the Graduate School of Foreign Languages aims to develop individuals who gain a high-level scholarly knowledge of Japanese language and culture studies and have both research capabilities based on a broad perspective and highly-specialized vocational skills.

Diploma Policy (Principle of Degree Conferment)

For the Japanese Language and Culture Master's Program offered by the Graduate School of Foreign Languages, students who have completed the required number of credits in the fields of Japanese-Chinese comparative language and culture studies, Japanese-Chinese comparative literature studies, Japanese language studies, and Japanese language education studies and whose submitted master's theses have been examined and found acceptable for the degree in accordance with the internal rules related to the program are judged to be equipped with the following three capabilities and are awarded a master's degree (Japanese Language and Culture).

Curriculum Policy (Principle of Curriculum Formation and Implementation)

The Japanese Language and Culture Master's Program offered by the Graduate School of Foreign Languages implements specialized education related to Japanese language and culture studies. To develop individuals who have both research capabilities based on a global and interdisciplinary perspective and high-level vocational skills, a curriculum with the following three characteristics has been created.

Based on the Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy, the Japanese Language and Culture Master's Program offered by the Graduate School of Foreign Languages seeks individuals who have the following academic skills and motivations.

Japanese Language and Culture Doctor's Program

Educational and Research Purposes

The Japanese Language and Culture Doctor's Program offered by the Graduate School of Foreign Languages aims to develop international researchers in Japanese language and culture studies and individuals engaged in high-level expertise-required jobs.

Diploma Policy (Principle of Degree Conferment)

For the Japanese Language and Culture Doctor's Program offered by the Graduate School of Foreign Languages, students who have completed the required number of credits in the fields of Japanese-Chinese comparative language and culture studies, Japanese-Chinese comparative literature studies, Japanese language studies, and Japanese language education studies and whose submitted doctor's theses have been examined and found compliant with the given conditions and acceptable for the degree in accordance with the internal rules related to the program are judged to be equipped with the following three capabilities and are awarded a doctor's degree (Japanese Language and Culture).
