Learn in small classes with foreign students

Since about 1/3 of the maximum 60 students in this department will be foreign students, there will be plenty of international exchange between Japanese and foreign students right on campus. Starting in the third year, classes will be limited to about 10 students per class.

Enhance your understanding of Japanese language and culture

In addition to studying Japanese as a linguistic pursuit, students will examine Japanese culture through studies of literature and calligraphy.

Become a Japanese language teacher

To cultivate Japanese language instructors who will be able to teach Japanese language classes and classes on Japanese culture in other parts of the world, the university strives to develop students’ foreign language skills, information processing capabilities, and knowledge of international relations.
