Regarding the Bulletin of Research on the History of Daito Bunka University

The Centennial History Compilation Committee publishes the Bulletin of Research on the History of Daito Bunka University once annually based on its plan to research and clarify the relationship between the development of the university and the modern and current history of Japan in parallel with the project for compiling the centennial history.

Call for contributions to the Bulletin of Research on the History of Daito Bunka University

The Daito Archives calls for contributions to the Bulletin in accordance with the rules stated below. We plan to set early December as the deadline for contributions this academic year (the third issue). We request that those willing to contribute, send their name, affiliation, type of contribution (such as research paper), its planned title and aproximate length to the e-mail address indicated below by October 31. We look forward to the responses to this call for contributions.

Contribution Rules
  • We invite the public to contribute research results related to the study of Daito Bunka University's history. Contributions are limited to research papers, research notes, material introductions and essays that have never been published.
  • There are no prerequisites for contributors. We do not pay examination or publication fees regardless of the type of contribution.
  • The Editorial Committee for the Bulletin of Research on the History of Daito Bunka University (from now on the “Editorial Committee”) shall edit the Bulletin. The Editorial Committee shall examine all handed-in material (and may request external examination committee members to perform examinations in some cases). The Editorial Committee shall decide whether to accept contributions based on the examination results. The Editorial Committee may ask writers to revise their contributions in some cases.
  • Daito Bunka Gakuen shall retain the copyright of all contributions published in the Bulletin.
  • The following guidelines have been set for the format of research papers.
    (a) The languages used in the text of research papers shall be either Japanese or English. (This rule does not apply to quotes.)
    (b) A research paper in Japanese must not exceed 32,000 characters, including the title, endnotes, figures, numerical formulas, and references. A research paper in English must not be longer than 8,000 words.
    (c) A summary in English of about 250 words in length must be attached to a research paper written in either Japanese or English.
  • Contributions are accepted at any time. We will announce the deadline for contributions to each issue published in the concerned academic year.
  • Contributions should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document. A cover sheet stating the name of the contributor, the title of the research paper, the total number of letters or characters, the postal address, the telephone number and the email address should be attached to the submitted research paper. Contributions should be sent to the following address. We offer advance consultations to those who wish to contribute a handwritten research paper.
  • Rules for research papers shall also correspond to research notes and material introductions. The length of a research note or a material introduction must be 20,000 characters or fewer in Japanese and 6,000 words or fewer in English.
  • The length of an essay must not exceed 10,000 characters in Japanese
  • Research papers published in the Bulletin shall be made available in repositories that belong to Daito Bunka University institutions. (The table of contents shall be published on the official website of the university.) We assume that the authors of the published contributions have approved publication on the website unless otherwise requested.
    * Rules for research papers shall correspond to other rules. However, the Centennial History Compilation Committee may simplify procedures for contributions at its discretion.
