東松山市早俣地区で、質的調査手法実習を行いました（2025.1.10)。

Practical training on qualitative research methods in Hayamata ward, Higashi Matsuyama city.

2025年1月10日（金）、アジア地域研究科の地域調査方法論科目である質的調査手法の実習を、
東松山市早俣地区で実施しました。教員1名、修士課程の学生5名、本学防災研究同好会「STERA」の学部生1名が参加しました。
本学から近い早俣地区は、2019年の台風19号で大規模な洪水被害を受けました。
事前学習として資料調査を行い、さらに早俣地区で防災活動に取り組まれている市民団体「てtoて」代表の千代田美紀さんのご自宅に伺い、被災当時の状況と復興の取り組みについてインタビューをさせていただきました。

今回の実習を通じて、地域や人とのつながりの重要性に対する学生の理解がより深まったと思います。

On Friday, January 10, 2025, a practical training session on qualitative research methods, a course in regional survey methodology offered by the Graduate School of Asian Regional Studies, was held in the Hayamata Ward of Higashi Matsuyama City.
One faculty member, five master's students, and one undergraduate student from the university's disaster prevention research club "STERA" participated in the event.
The Hayamata ward, which is close to the university, was hit by extensive flooding caused by Typhoon No. 19 in 2019.
As part of their preliminary research, they conducted a survey of materials and also visited the home of Ms. Miki Chiyoda, the representative of the "Te-to-te" local community group, which is involved in disaster prevention activities in the Hayamata area,
and conducted an interview about the situation at the time of the disaster and the recovery efforts.

Through this practical training, we believe that the students were able to deepen their understanding of the regional issues in Japan and the  importance of connecting with the local community.
