2. 自国・文化について/About My Country and Culture

France is a country with a rich history and culture. People in France love art, literature, and especially food. Every region has its own special dishes, like crêpes in Brittany or bouillabaisse in Marseille. Cheese and wine are very popular too.
French people celebrate many festivals. The most famous is July 14th, the national holiday, and Christmas is also important, with markets and decorations. Life in France is often about enjoying time with family and friends and having a good balance between work and free time.

3. 母国の大学について/About My Home University

I really like studying at the University of Strasbourg because it is a very welcoming and lively place. The university has many faculties and programs, like science, literature, law, and medicine, so everyone can find something interesting. The libraries and campus facilities are modern and very helpful for studying.
Student life is great here. There are lots of clubs, sports activities, and cultural events. Strasbourg is also a beautiful and safe city, full of history, cafés, and parks, which makes life outside of classes very enjoyable. I think international students will feel comfortable here because the university has a friendly and diverse community from all over the world.

4. 日本留学を決めた理由/Why I Chose to Study in Japan

I first became interested in Japanese simply through manga and anime. At the beginning, it was just a fun hobby, but after my first year at university, I quickly became passionate about the Japanese language. Learning the language made me curious about Japanese history, especially the medieval period, and its literature.
I chose to study in Japan mainly to improve my language skills and to experience Japanese culture firsthand. I believe that living and studying in Japan will help me understand the language and culture more deeply, which is essential for my future goal of working as a translator. I want to be able to translate as accurately and authentically as possible, and studying in Japan is the best way to achieve that.

5. 大東文化大学の良いところやお気に入りなところ/Good or Favorite Things of DBU

One of my favorite things about DBU is that there are many opportunities to interact with Japanese students, who all seem genuinely interested in our languages and cultures. The Global Studies class, in particular, helped create connections between international and Japanese students, and it was thanks to this class that I was able to make Japanese friends.
I also really like that the campus is surrounded by nature, and the International Exchange Center has a very dedicated and helpful staff. They helped me a lot at the beginning of my stay when I was still figuring out how things worked. The professors are also great—they encourage participation without judgment. Having a lighter course load allowed me to fully experience life in Japan and enjoy everything the country has to offer.

6. 大東生へのメッセージ/Messages for Daito Bunka students

To all Daito Bunka students, I want to say that studying here has been a really inspiring experience because of you. Your curiosity about other cultures and your willingness to share your own made it easy for me to feel welcome. I’ve enjoyed learning together in classes, but also exploring Japanese traditions, food, and everyday life with you outside the classroom. Meeting you has shown me how much fun it can be to exchange ideas and experiences across cultures, and I hope we can continue discovering new things together during my time at DBU.

7. 未来の留学生へメッセージ/Messages for future international students

To future international students at DBU, I want to say that studying here is an amazing opportunity. Take every chance to meet Japanese students, join events, and explore both the campus and the city—these experiences will make your stay unforgettable. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes in class or in daily life, because everyone here is supportive and willing to help. Most importantly, enjoy learning the language and the culture firsthand, and make the most of every moment.
